Artery severed in sports club groin-stab fight
A man was stabbed in the groin during a fight at a St Albans gaming venue last night.
The man, 22, was stabbed after a fight with another man who was part of a group attending a function at the venue, a police spokeswoman said.
The incident occurred at the Gillespie Road sports club at 7.50pm.
An artery in one of the man’s thighs was was severed in the stabbing, which caused “substantial” blood loss, the spokeswoman said.
The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition but has now stabilised.
