Both the EDFL’s under-15 and under-14 teams sit on top of their respective ladders with whopping percentages, as the 15s fought back from an eight-point half-time deficit to win by 17 points – 5.39 (39) to 3.4 (22) – against Yarra Junior Football League at Keilor Park Reserve.

Goals were shared across the scoresheet, with Jackson Volpato, Hisham Kerbatieh, Adam Clemente, Zachary Antovski and Jaidyn Caruana each kicking a goal, while Tyler Vujanic was judged best on ground.

Meanwhile, the 14s had to work a little harder for their victory, eventually sneaking home by three points 4.3 (27) to 3.6 (24).

In wet conditions, best afield Nicholas Giarrizzo’s two goals proved to be a game breaker.

The news was much the same in division 2 with the 15s defeating the Eastern Football League by seven points – 9.6 (60) to 7.11 (53) – in an encounter which coach Darryl Maher said was their most important of the carnival.

While Maher thought Koolyn Briggs was a standout, late inclusion Jordan Port won the medal in a game full of impressive performances.

Unfortunately, the 14s were belted in division 2, kept goalless as they lost by 86 points, 13.10 (88) to 0.2 (2).
