WITH Daffodil Day on Friday, students at Penola Catholic College in Broadmeadows, including Danielle and Charlton (pictured), have put their salesmanship to the test.

For 10 years, the school has sold Daffodil Day merchandise, including teddy bears, to raise money for the Cancer Council.

The school raises up to $800 each year for cancer research and patient support services.

Student council co-ordinator Angela Xidias organised merchandise sale because of her family’s experience; she lost her father and nephew to cancer.

Cancer Council Victoria predicts more than 10,000 Victorians will die from cancer this year; that’s more than 35 times the state’s annual road toll.
