The boys had to play four games on the first day to determine their ranking within Pool B.

The first game was against Wagga Wagga and Wauchope got off to a perfect start, winning the match 6-4. The best players were Curtly Scott, Jack Lewis, Nick Cutler and Jake Flanagan.

Game Two was against Albion Park and was another closely contested match. Wauchope managed to level the scores at 4-all near the end of the game, but some tough decisions went against them to hand Albion Park a 6-4 victory. Nick Cutler, Jake Flanagan, Darren Bourke and Ray Donovan were the best in this game.

The third match was against Cromer High and fatigue became a factor for the Wauchope side before they finally went down 7-4, after once again levelling at 4-all late in the second half. Darren Bourke, Curtly Scott, Jackson Thompson and and Brent Lenehan were the best performers.

Finally, in the fourth game played Hills Sports High and put in a very courageous performance to only go down 7-3 against a team with five State Representatives. Players from the Hills team commented that the Wauchope boys were the best team they faced on the day. Jake Flanagan, Ned Parker, Luke McKinnon and Jack Lewis were the best in this game.

These results left the Wauchope boys fourth in their pool, which left them to battle for seventh or eighth position against Greystanes the following day.

This match was close from the opening whistle, as the teams traded tries throughout the game. With the scores locked at 4-all, and a drop-off in extra time looking certain, Curtly Scott was able to slide through the defence to score the match-winner, which meant Wauchope finished in seventh position. Curtly, Ethan McKenna, Jack Lewis and Jake Flanagan were the best players.

The Most Valuable Player was voted on by the boys during the tournament on a 3-2-1 basis, with Curtly Scott winning this Award from Jake Flanagan, Jack Lewis and Nick Cutler.

Well done: Wauchope High School open boys touch team included, back row, Jake Flanagan, Darren Bourke, Jackson Thompson, Raymond Donovan, Ned Parker, Ethan McKenna, Cameron Thomas, Chris Hancock (Coach). And, Brent Lenehan, Luke McKinnon, Curtly Scott, Nick Cutler, Jack Lewis.
